Brick car crash puts three in hospital
Saturday, September 4 At 8 p.m., Brick Police Department officers Brian Gordon and Chris Newlund responded to the intersection of Drum Point Road and Mandalay Road for a motor vehicle accident.
Vehicle 1, a white F-150, was driving west on Drum Point Road at high speed. Vehicle 2, a gray Infinity M35, was turning left onto Mandalay Road from Drum Point Road. Vehicle 1 struck the rear passenger side of Vehicle 2 causing Vehicle 2 to spin and crash with a parked and unoccupied vehicle in the Bayside Auto parking lot.
After colliding with Vehicle 2, the white F-150 continued westbound on Drum Point Road, crashing into several traffic signs and a utility pole. The force of the impact on the pole cut it in half, causing the attached power lines to fall.
Brick 21 and 22 fire departments responded to assist with safety while JCP & L responded to repair the utility pole and lines. Road Safety Officer Dan Fogarty and Identity sleuth Brian Williams responded to investigate the crash.
The driver of Vehicle 1, Tyler Pratt, was found to be intoxicated and arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was rushed to Ocean Medical Center with facial injuries.
Occupants of Vehicle 2, Lynnea Prunkl and Fay Novoshelski, were also taken to Ocean Medical Center with injuries described as pain in the chest, neck and along the right side of their body.
