Ram’s Cold and Rainy TRAFFIC REPORT

(MURFREESBORO) Rain, cloudy and colder weather – this is what creates challenges for motorists when driving on construction sites. Murfreesboro Transportation deputy director Ram Balachandran has verified the reports and warned of areas to avoid between now and November 6, 2021.

City construction projects

Demolition work on the old Pinnacle building (N Maple St to W College St)

No lane closure planned: Monday to Friday: site construction work continues. There will be slight traffic disruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Oakland Court Development (Lokey Ave and Academy St)

Planned Road Closures: Monday-Friday: As part of Oakland Court development, Academy Street will be closed to through traffic between Palm Ct and Hembree St. Lokey Ave will also be closed at Academy St. site are continuing. Appropriate traffic controls and detours will be put in place.

Mercury Blvd Sidewalk Improvement Project (SE Broad St and Middle Tennessee Blvd)

Planned lane closures: Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m .: Construction crews will install sidewalk and traffic light improvements along the south side of Mercury Boulevard. There will be lane closures and traffic disruptions along Mercury Boulevard and along SE Broad Street. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Water Line and Tap Work (Academy St between E Sevier St and E State St)

Planned road closures: Wednesday and Thursday: Construction crews will perform utility work on E Academy Street between E Sevier Street and E State Street. Local residents will have access at all times. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Annual city street paving projects

Planned lane closures: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m .: The municipal contractor will carry out construction work on the following streets:

  1. Saint Andrews Dr to Saint Bernard Way (construction of a box bridge)
  2. Highland Ave between Clark Blvd and E Main St (road sign loop installation work)
  3. Joe B Jackson Pkwy (sidewalk repair work)
  4. SE Broad St to Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd (signage loop and paving work)

Expect lane changes and traffic disruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

TDOT resurfacing projects

RUTHERFORD COUNTY I-840

Repair of bridges on I-840 over the East Fork of the Stones River, including replacement of the approach slab

  • Every evening, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., There will be alternating lane closures for the installation of the final pavement markings.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY SR266

Grading, drainage, construction of two concrete T-beam bridges, signals and paving on SR 266 (Jefferson Pike) from SR 102 (LM 5.0) east of I-840 (LM 9).

  • Every day, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., There will be periodic marking operations along SR 266 for construction activities.
